Marios Pittalis
Nicosia, CyprusI was appointed as a lecturer in mathematics education at the University of Cyprus in August 2021. I hold a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Cyprus (2000), an MA in Mathematics Education (2004), and a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the same university (2008).
Over the years, I have had the privilege of participating in several research projects funded by the European Union, including Funthink, KeyCoMath, Dalest, Calgeo, and EMETT. Additionally, I have been involved in projects funded by the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Research Foundation. My research interests primarily focus on mathematics education, particularly the integration of digital technologies in mathematics teaching.
I currently teach in the bi-institutional master's program for the Didactics of Mathematics and the Methodology of Teaching Mathematics, which is co-organized with the Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Furthermore, I have contributed to the development of the new mathematics curriculum in Cyprus and played a role in the creation of new teaching textbooks for primary schools.
I have also authored or co-authored several papers in peer-reviewed journals and am an active member of the editorial board of international peer-reviewed journals.
